EVEN IF

Even If

When this journey began, I was certain I would become one of those stories people share for years. I believed God would perform a miracle in my life, and I still believe He can.

Nothing about the past few weeks has changed what I know about God.

I know He is able.

If Jesus simply spoke the word, every cancer cell in my body would disappear. I do not doubt His power for a moment. The same Savior who raised the dead, gave sight to the blind, and calmed the storm with a word still reigns today.

What has changed is not my view of His ability. It is my understanding of faith.

As the journey has grown more difficult, I have found myself returning to the words of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in Daniel 3: “Our God whom we serve is able to deliver us… But even if He does not…”

Those four words now carry a deeper meaning.

I am still praying boldly. I am still asking God for healing. I still believe in miracles.

But I also understand that faith is not measured by whether I receive the miracle I am asking for. Faith is measured by whether I continue to trust God even if His answer is not what I hoped for.

That is not giving up.

It is surrender.

It is placing my life in the hands of a loving Father whose wisdom surpasses mine and whose plans extend far beyond what I can see.

The old hymn It Is Well with My Soul was not written after everything turned out well. It was written in the midst of deep loss. That is why those words carry such weight.

“It is well with my soul.”

Not because life is easy.

Not because I understand everything.

But because Jesus is enough.

So today, my prayer remains for healing. My faith still expects God to move. My hope is firmly anchored in Him.

But if His plan is different from mine…

Even if…

It is well with my soul.
