This week, our theme shifted to COMPETE—but not the tournament version. Not trophies or medals. Not sparring or scoreboards.
This competition is much deeper:
It’s you versus you.
The Inner Battle
Inside every student are two versions:
Version 1: The Champion
The one who touches the line
Finishes the rep
Sits deep in their stance
Pushes through discomfort
Version 2: The Shortcut Artist
The one who wants comfort
Quits early
Stands tall in back stance
Throws lazy kicks
Every class, every drill, every rep is a battle between these two.
And the winner determines your growth.
The Real Limit Is Mental, Not Physical
Your body can usually do far more than your mind thinks.
Scientific studies show that when you feel “done,” you often have over 40% in reserve.
Your brain tries to protect you from discomfort—not danger.
It says:
- “That’s enough.”
- “You can stop.”
- “Good job, you did most of it.”
But the mind is an overprotective coach.
Champions learn to question it—and gently push past its limits.
Mental Fitness Is Real Fitness
Improving physical fitness requires strengthening mental fitness:
- When your arms shake during pushups
- When your legs burn in horse stance
- When your lungs feel tight during drills
- When your form feels long
- When you want to quit
That is where progress happens.
Not in comfort.
Not in ease.
Not in shortcuts.
Growth lives right past the point your mind wants to stop.
This Week’s Challenge
When your brain says, “stop,”
do one more rep.
Or three more seconds.
Or one more strong technique. Not enough to hurt yourself—
just enough to beat yesterday’s you.
